About Jessica Goodman, LCSW
Thank you for taking time to learn more about me!
As the daughter of Salvadoreños, I always understood the complexities of trauma and its effects on individuals and families. There is opportunity for change in every generation and in every human interaction - hope is what I choose to carry with me. Continuous self reflection, lots of time outdoors, and healthy relationships are what help me grow.
I completed a BA in Legal Studies at UC Berkeley in 2006. In 2009, I began working with children and families who experienced trauma, and I completed my MSW at USC in 2013. Since then, I have supported multicultural families in the child welfare system, schools, homes, and community agencies where I trained in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practices.
I’m fluent in Spanish and I enjoy traveling and learning languages (French, Portuguese, German, Hebrew).
Today, I am trained in: Managing and Adapting Practice (children and adolescents), Incredible Years (children), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (adults), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (skills group for adolescents). I have been in private practice since 2022.
Continuous learning is one of my favorite things about my profession! In 2024 and 2025, I completed trainings on Polyvagal Theory, CBT, Asylum Medicine, and Bridge Building (Othering & Belonging Institute at UC Berkeley). I'm looking forward to a certificate training in eco-therapy in Fall 2025.
